Before I Let Go

I am UNWELL — I started Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan on a rainy Sunday morning, and by Sunday night, I was laying on my couch, reading the last few pages, and sobbing like a baby.

This book was so beautiful. All of it. The characters, the storyline, the complexity of emotions. Before I Let Go is a “second chance” romance, but it’s so unique from others I’ve read and focuses on a couple who divorced after experiencing one of the most gut-wrenching events possible.

The way Ryan described mental illness, therapy, love, grief, and pain was phenomenal, and I cannot stop thinking about it. As a mom and someone who found my “forever person” at a very young age…this book hits hard. I think one of the most important take-aways in reading this one is that grief manifests and is expressed differently in everyone.

I could go on and on about Before I Let Go, and it was even one of my top books of 2022. So, I’ll just stop and say—PLEASE READ THIS BOOK (and huge kudos to Ryan for including the content warnings on the first page).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars)
